Phallus luteus (Liou & L. Hwang) T. Kasuya is ovoid to nearly spherical in juvenile stage, called button, button is 4~5 cm high, 3~4 cm in diameter, and the outer surface is soil gray to taupe. Under the right temperature, humidity and sunlight, the stipe inside the button quickly elongates upwards, and the cap breaks out of the bud. Then, the inconspicuous and wrinkled indusium under the cap slowly stretches, finally revealing a gorgeous and attractive orange to yellow dress. In the pits on the surface of the cap, there are sticky, smelly olive-brown spores, which contain countless spores that reproduce. The smell attracts flies and other insects to feed on the spores, and the spores can germinate and reproduce after being digested and excreted by the insects.

Phallus luteus mainly grows scattered or in groups under the bamboo forests in deep mountains, and occasionally grows under broad-leaved forests. Its growth period is very short, and the skirt unfolds for only 2-3 days. It will rot soon, which is comparable to a flash in the pan. Phallus luteus in Figure 1 was found in the woodland of Huanggongwang Forest Park, Fuyang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province during the investigation of the diversity of macrofungal species in Hangzhou City. It is at its most beautiful time, indicating that the ecological environment quality of Huanggongwang Forest Park is very high .
